Paint a barn with
make-up
Paint it pretty, too
Make it blush
With smokey eyes
And polish, neon blue
Paint a barn with
make-up
Cover up the flaws
Make it sexy
Pale, nude eyes
And lipstick in the raw
Paint a barn with
cosmetics
Age-defying cream
Fashion it perfectly
Make it over
To satisfy your sick dream
But decorate a woman with
kindness
Dignity and worth
Honor her wisdom
Value her strength
And watch her color the earth
Color the earth, dear
one
With drops of 'You are enough'
Beautiful girl, paint the world
And beat the drum because
You are
You really are
You absolutely are
{Enough}

Thank you for this poem. It reminded of messages from long ago about "every barn needs a new coat of paint." Messages offered in jest yet can shape perceptions about dignity and worth. I am grateful for the reminder of all my old beliefs which God's freed.
